A Short History of Iqra Mission High School
It is said that, “Instead of cursing the darkness, better light a candle”. By the grace of Almighty, exactly the same has been done at Nawab Sahab Kunta, 34 years ago i.e., in 1986, by Mohammed Sajid Ali., who was just 25 years old when he founded IQRA Mission High School, soon after completing his M.Sc., (Chemistry) from Aligarh Muslim University. ‘Alma Master’ where he got the sprit of Sir Sayyid (R.A.) and was influenced by his Educational Movement called Aligarh Tahreek.
He could have joined Govt. Service or have gone abroad for greener pastures, but focused with endurance. Al - Hamdulillah, now IQRA Mission High School has not only earned a respectable name in the field of education for Muslims but is also marching as a tourch bearer.
Syllabus:
- The school is following Montessori concepts and play way methods in Pre - Primary section i.e., in class Nursery, L.K.G. & U.K.G., which will be called as Play School from this year i.e. 2009 - 2010.
- For Primary classes I toV the follows C.B.S.E syllabus prescribed by N.C.E.R.T. New Delhi.
- From classes VI to X,S.S.C. Board syllabus as prescribed by the Govt. of T.S. is followed.
- English has emerged as the world language, through this medium one can earn bread and butter. It is also the language of Science Technology and Information. so this school is an English medium school, which gives more emphasis on English conversation Skills.
- Arabic, Nazera with Tajweed and understanding is taught from Nursery to X by following the course of Understand Quran Academy.
- Islamiyath, is taught through Urdu Language, from Nusery to X by following the graded course designed by Moulana Abul Hasan Nadvi Academy.
SCHOOL LANGUAGE TEACHING POLICY :
As we live in a multi - lingual world, so we need to prepare our children as multi- linguals. School age is the right time when children can learn multiple languages with ease.
So, we follow teaching of five languages as follows.
- English : Nursery to X as medium of instruction & III language.
- Arabic : Nursery to X. Following the Course Understanding Qur’an & Aaqirah.
- Urdu : L.K.G. to X as Compulsory language as optional and First language, which is also our mother tongue.
- Hindi : L.K.G. to X as compulsory language as optional and First language as it is our National Language.
- Telugu : I to X Compulsory as Second Language which is our State Language.
GOVERNMENT RECOGNITION:
The school is recognized by the govt of TS for Pre Primary classes as well as from classes I to X with additional sections in each class. The school is also recognized by the state Govt as a 'Muslim Minority Institution'.
